About me

I’m Henderson, a photographer and local guide in Buenos Aires, where I’ve been living for 11 years. My proposal is to offer walks that combine discovering the city with a photographic experience that goes beyond the ordinary. More than just showing tourist spots, I seek to present Buenos Aires in an intimate and relaxed way, revealing corners and atmospheres that often go unnoticed. As we walk, I capture your story with lightness, movement, and spontaneity — avoiding stiff poses so that the photos truly reflect who you are and how you lived that moment. On this page, you’ll find all my services and packages. The price shown on my profile refers to the minimum rate, for a 30-minute walk, but there are different options depending on the length and type of experience you choose.

A day with me includes

Bar Nápoles: A Vintage Wonderland in San Telmo

Interior of Bar Nápoles, featuring a vintage race car and eclectic antique decor.

Bar Nápoles in San Telmo is not just a bar – it\\\\\\\'s an immersive journey through time and art. Set in a historic carriage house with soaring ceilings, this 2,000-square-meter venue is packed with eclectic treasures at every turn.

The atmosphere feels like a living museum filled with curiosities, where vintage cars and motorcycles stand alongside antique chandeliers, old globes, and even carousel horses.

Simply walking through the door is like stepping into a quirky time capsule – truly one-of-a-kind with its nostalgic charm and endless visual surprises
    .
    Eclectic Decor Highlights

Vintage Vehicles Indoors: Classic automobiles (including 1950s Italian race cars) and gleaming motorcycles are part of the decor, parked casually among the dining tables.

This unexpected sight gives the bar a fun, retro vibe – as if you\\\\\\\'re at a car museum that serves cocktails.

Antiques & Oddities Everywhere: From vintage statues and old globes to carousel horses and crystal chandeliers, every corner is adorned with fascinating objects.

The collection ranges from European art pieces to local memorabilia, creating a treasure trove of eye-catching details for visitors to explore.

Whimsical, Mismatched Charm: The furniture and fixtures are delightfully mismatched. You might relax on a leather Chesterfield sofa or even in a vintage barber chair right next to a classic car. These quirky seating areas, paired with the building\\\\\\\'s original iron columns and brick arches, give Nápoles a cozy old-world ambiance that oozes character.

International tourists love Bar Nápoles for its unforgettable ambiance and photogenic decor. Many describe it as “dining in several museums at once”.

The eclectic interior isn’t just decoration – it’s the soul of the place, turning a simple night out into a memorable adventure. With its blend of history, art, and whimsy, Bar Nápoles offers a charming escape from the ordinary, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Buenos Aires.

Campanópolis: Why It Might Feel Like a Tourist Trap

Campanópolis is a medieval-inspired village near Buenos Aires that intrigues many visitors, but travelers often question whether it’s worth the trip. Several factors contribute to its reputation as a potential “tourist trap”:

    * High Entrance Fees: Visiting Campanópolis isn’t cheap. General admission costs around ARS 20,000 per person (roughly $13–$17), which many find steep for what the attraction offers. Organized tours from Buenos Aires often hover around $50 or more, adding to the expense.

    * Limited Access & Guided Tours Only: The site has very restricted visiting hours and days. For a long time it was only open a few hours on Saturdays with obligatory guided tours, and even now entry is available only on specific days/times with a guided visit. You can’t just drop in at any time – you must join a scheduled tour, which can feel limiting if you prefer to explore freely.

    * Lack of Authenticity: Despite its medieval look, Campanópolis is not an actual historic village. It’s a modern complex built from recycled materials and scrap, merely inspired by medieval Europe. The quirky architecture makes for fun photos, but some visitors feel the place is more of a contrived set-piece than an authentic cultural site.

    * Underwhelming Experience: Many travelers leave disappointed, saying Campanópolis doesn’t live up to the hype. The buildings are mostly façades – you cannot enter the “castles” or interact with interiors, so it ends up being a walk past staged scenery. Amenities are sparse (reports mention only a small kiosk with overpriced snacks and limited facilities. Overall, once the initial curiosity wears off, there isn’t much depth beyond taking a few pictures. Some reviews bluntly summarize the visit by calling it “not worth it” after the long journey and cost.

Each of these factors – high cost, tight controls on visiting, a staged atmosphere, and unmet expectations – leads some visitors to label Campanópolis a tourist trap. This critical perspective can help travelers weigh whether the novelty of this fantasy village justifies the time and money, or if their interests might be better served elsewhere. The description is not to say no one enjoys it, but rather to highlight common complaints for those evaluating if it’s worth visiting.

Tell us, how was your experience with this friend.

Write about your own experiences guiding as a Local Friend. You can write these on your own voice, relating the unique experiences you were able to give who was traveling with you. Example: "Last week, I guided a traveler from Spain who wanted to experience the city beyond the main attractions. We started with a quiet morning at a small coffee shop only locals know, then wandered through a street art alley where I could share the stories behind each mural. They told me it was their favorite part of the trip because it felt like discovering a secret side of the city, one they would have never found alone."
