    • Monduli, Tanzania
    • maasai-village
      Christina

The Maasai are a semi-nomadic people who live in close harmony with nature, often sharing their surroundings with wild animals. On this tour, you’ll visit a traditional Maasai village (manyatta) and learn about their daily life, cattle herding, and sustainable practices. Experience the famous Maasai dances and songs, including the warrior’s “jumping dance” (Adumu), and see how their homes are built from natural materials like mud, sticks, and cow-dung. You’ll also get a chance to observe or try traditional crafts, such as beadwork or fire-making, and gain insight into their rich cultural heritage. This visit is not only educational and immersive but also supports the local community, as many tours contribute directly to village initiatives. Remember to respect local customs, ask before taking photos, and enjoy this authentic encounter with one of Africa’s most iconic cultures.

Located just across from the Jerónimos Monastery, this is one of Lisbon’s most beautiful gardens. Created in the early 20th century for the study of botanical species from the former Portuguese colonies, the garden is home to a rich collection of tropical and subtropical plants brought from Africa, Asia, and South America. One of my favorite things to do in Rio is to take an afternoon stroll along the beautiful beaches of Ipanema and Arpoador. There’s nothing quite like sipping fresh coconut water while unwinding and watching the breathtaking sunset. It’s a cherished tradition among the locals, who celebrate the moment the sun dips behind the mountains with applause. I always take my non-local friends there, and they never regret it—they always thank me for sharing such a magical experience with them.

Entry is free daily 8 AM–7 PM. Park 2WD cars on the bitumen lot; never drive standard cars on the sand tracks or you will get stuck. Cardboard or boogie boards won\'t slide on the sand—hire properly waxed wooden sandboards locally in town for $10/hour. Bring polarized sunglasses and a face cover for protection against the intense white glare and whipped up wind. Keep a sharp eye out for 4WDs, ATVs, and dirt bikes coming over dune crests.

    Collectors Welcome at the Cove!

    • Salisbury, United States
    • collectors-welcome-at-the-cove-
      Sophia

This is the best spot for buying stockpiled TCGs, d&d odds and ends, and other pop culture items! They also sell gently used game comsoles of both the current AND retro variety.

The vendors rotate in and out, providing this location with new, polished collectibles every so often. You never know what you\'ll find here; from viral mystery dumplings and Needoh fidgets to insanely valuable video game consoles, there\'s something for every pop culture fan!!

*I personally love Pokémon and Magic: The gathering, so CC is my go-to for packs and singles FYI. ;)*

Events happen here all the time. They feature live vendor trades, prize-filled trivia competitions, and even free goodie bag events for the first couple-hundred guests who attend! Even if you don\'t want to buy anything crazy, these events are a MUST for its great atmosphere.

(P.S., they have some cheap claw machines, arcade games, AND a paid air hockey table. Oh, and not to mention the retro AND newly released console couches that are chock full of games! You can play the consoles for free, making even a low-budget visit feel enjoyable without the guilt!!)

    Graffiti is LEGAL here!

    • Salisbury, United States
    • graffiti-is-legal-here-
      Sophia

Uptown Salisbury buildings are almost always clean; but not because of the strict laws.

The Salisbury Graffiti park gives artists of all ages and proficiencies the ability to express themselves in a positive and legal way. If you ever feel like painting an inspiring quote, your own name in a silly color and font, or a presidential figure in shades and a nose ring, this is the right place for you!

Please remember to stay respectful when painting on these boards! People put a lot of time and effort into what they do. Happy painting!
