About me

I studied Languages and Literature at "Universidade de São Paulo", my city’s biggest university. I graduated in 1995. I studied in México and Spain to improve my Spanish and my knowledge in culture, tourism, geography, history, arts, gastronomy, people customs and habits, etc. I teach Portuguese for Foreigners at FAAP some days a week. The other days I´m a freelancer in other fields with other languages.

City's Tips & Traps

  • Image

    MAC USP IBirapuera

It's an excelent contemporary art museum, and on the top of the building there is a wonderful view of the one of the most beautiful regions of São Paulo - including our main park, Ibirapuera.

    Japanese Pavilion

A place to relax, meditate, see a little lake with beautiful carps, a traditional Japanese antique house, special pacefull gardens, places to rest... and one of the least busy places you'll find in the park!
  • Image

Feirinha da Praça Benedito Calixto ("Little Fair of Benedito Calixto´s Square)

A good place to eat good street food, to hear good Chorinho music between 6pm and 8pm, to buy souvenirs from the handcrafters or in the shops around the square, to eat in the good restaurants around the square too, or to see beautiful and good humour people.

Bank of Brazil Culture Center (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil - CCBB)

There are many cultural activities, like theater, movie theater, exhibitions of visual arts and music. And the historical building is gorgeous! Stop for a cup of jo at their cafe too.

Pico do Jaraguá (Jaraguá Hill and Park)

There is a park in the foothold, but the adventure is to climb on foot the best path ("Pai Zé Path"). It lasts about 3 hours, and it's not safe on rainy days. To be back while the day is clear, it has to start about noon, but the ideal option is during the morning, because the sun gets too strong.

    Pinacoteca Museum

A museum from 1905, with 9,000 works since 19th century up to today. Specialized in Brazilian artists, it receives about 500.000 visitors to its 30 exhibitions per year (average). There are many exhibitions of foreign artists too, like Rodin and Ron Muek.

Tell us, how was your experience with this friend.

Write about your own experiences guiding as a Local Friend. You can write these on your own voice, relating the unique experiences you were able to give who was traveling with you. Example: "Last week, I guided a traveler from Spain who wanted to experience the city beyond the main attractions. We started with a quiet morning at a small coffee shop only locals know, then wandered through a street art alley where I could share the stories behind each mural. They told me it was their favorite part of the trip because it felt like discovering a secret side of the city, one they would have never found alone."
