MELODY SILVER: Your Local Friend in NJ, NYC, Boston & Beyond

♪ Hi! I’m Melody - a musician, foodie, and alt girl from the East Coast, U.S.A. I’d love to join you as your local friend while you explore New Jersey, New York City, Boston, and beyond in whatever way sounds fun to you!

My guide style:
★ While traveling abroad myself, I realized that sometimes what a person really needs isn't a tour guide, but rather a friendly local to accompany them on their own adventures. Someone to grab dinner with, help navigate unfamiliar places, keep them company, and make exploring feel more comfortable. That's what inspired me to become a Rental Friend: to offer the kind of companionship I found myself looking for while traveling. On that note, I’m not a traditional tour guide - I won’t give scripted historical tours or plan detailed itineraries. Instead, I’m here to be your +1 for sightseeing, concerts, scenic drives, yummy eats, neighborhood strolls, or just hanging out!

🍜 I’m a big foodie - I love trying new foods and visiting local eateries, so if you're looking for someone to share a meal with or check out a restaurant with you, I'm always game.
🎶 I'm a musician and busker, so I'm a great fit if you enjoy concerts, plays, or street performances (we can also exchange playlists and listen to music together in the car).
🇺🇸 My knowledge of the Spanish and Japanese languages is limited, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to practice your English with a native speaker while we're out together.
🚗 I can drive you almost anywhere in the area - perfect for road trips, scenic drives, snack runs, and extended conversations.
💪 I can also help with odd jobs like organizing, light errands, line-standing, and other casual support while you travel or work remotely.

Booking Information:
• Hourly rate: $30/hour. (Time spent waiting in line, walking to the venue, etc. is charged at the same rate.)
• Minimum booking: 1 hour. (You're welcome to end our time together earlier if your plans change, but the 1-hour minimum rate still applies.)
• Transportation: If I provide transportation using my vehicle, the traveler will be responsible for a mileage fee of $0.75/mile to cover fuel and vehicle expenses. Any parking fees, tolls, or other transportation-related costs will also be covered by the traveler; this is non-negotiable. (If you choose not to use my car, we'll need to rely on public transit, which can be limited and time-consuming in some areas. Since my rate is hourly, having me drive will usually help us make the most of our time together.)
• Dining & Admissions: If an activity includes admission or dining, the traveler is responsible for covering my admission fee and meal, including one drink per meal (non-alcoholic). If alcoholic beverages are ordered for me, they must also be covered by the traveler. I limit myself to a maximum of 3 alcoholic drinks per booking.
• Cancellation: Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled booking. Cancellations within 24 hours may require payment of 50% of the scheduled booking fee.
• Boundaries: I do not offer dating, romantic, or sexual services of any kind. I may be able to act as a "plus one" or play the "pretend girlfriend" role, only if it is required by an event or reservation for attendance. That arrangement is limited to that event, and there will be no physical, romantic, or sexual involvement of any kind between the local friend and the traveler. Any unwanted touching, sexual comments, romantic advances, or uncomfortable behavior of any kind at any point during our time together will end the booking immediately, without refund - NO exceptions.
• Before Booking: For everyone's comfort and safety, I'm happy to schedule a quick video call or public-place meeting before booking so we can introduce ourselves, discuss plans, and make sure we're a good fit.
