About me

Passionate local who loves photography, intercultural conversations, diverse cultures, and uncovering hidden gems. Whether we are chatting over coffee or exploring Santiago's vibrant streets, I'm here to make your visit unforgettable and completely authentic, and in my work time I am a physician, that is why I can help you navigate Dominican Medical Tourism.

A day with me includes

A fully customized experience based on the vibe you are looking for.

Sustainable toursim. We can check out the city's green spaces, navigate the best spots for local cuisine, and experience the true energy of Santiago. I'm here to share the insider knowledge you won't find in a guidebook, making sure you experience the city like a local, not a tourist.

Medical Tourism. My goal is to remove the stress of logistics so you can focus entirely on your procedure and recovery. Here is exactly how I can help:
Pre-Arrival Consultation: Before you even book your flight, we will sit down virtually to review your clinic options, discuss the logistical realities of your trip, and map out a stress-free itinerary.
On-the-Ground Logistics: From the moment you land, I have you covered. I provide reliable airport pickups, safe transportation to and from all your clinical appointments, and assistance navigating local pharmacies to fill your prescriptions accurately.
Appointment Companionship: I will sit by your side during your medical consultations. As a bilingual physician, I ensure absolutely no language barriers exist and that every single medical question you have is thoroughly answered by your surgical or dental team.
Post-Op & Recovery Support: Recovery is the most critical part of your journey. I will check in on you regularly at your hotel or Airbnb, help you order safe and delicious local meals while you rest, and keep your spirits high so you feel completely supported while you heal.

Hidden Turquoise Pools: The Secret of Cola de Pato🌿💧

Hidden deep within the mountains of Jamao al Norte is Cola de Pato—a wildly pristine, intensely blue river canyon that looks like it belongs in another world.

Getting there is an adventure in itself. It involves a steep, challenging hike down into the virgin jungle. Once you reach the river, there is only one way forward: swimming through narrow canyons and taking mandatory cliff jumps (some up to 10 meters / 30 feet high!) into incredibly deep, crystal-clear turquoise pools. The adrenaline is unmatched, and the scenery is completely untouched by mass tourism.

Handling GI Issues in Santiago: Choosing the Right Clinic 🏥🇩🇴

Experiencing a gastrointestinal (GI) issue or stomach bug is a common, yet stressful, part of traveling. If you need medical attention in Santiago and are using international travel insurance, it is advisable to know the differences between the major private clinics so you can make the best decision for your situation.
Here is an objective breakdown of two of the main facilities tourists typically consider:
    Clínica Corominas (City Center)
The Pros: This clinic is highly practical for international visitors. Their administrative team is known for handling international travel insurance paperwork directly, saving you a massive headache. The medical care is reliable, and the overall costs are significantly more affordable.
The Cons: It is an older facility located right in the bustling, busy downtown area.
HOMS - Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (Autopista Duarte)
The Pros: HOMS features a striking, highly modern building with beautiful, state-of-the-art infrastructure located on the outskirts of the city.
The Cons: It is generally more expensive. It is also worth noting that emergency room triage can sometimes take longer, and the process of claiming travel insurance is often more complex and left to the patient to manage.
Depending on whether you prioritize streamlined insurance processing or modern aesthetics, the choice is yours.
Why you need a local: Dealing with a medical issue in a foreign country is overwhelming. As an independent local guide, I can assist you with transportation, help translate your symptoms from English to Spanish during triage, and support you with the logistics at whichever facility you choose. My goal is to make sure you have the local support you need so you can focus entirely on feeling better!
