The London Eye was designed by architects David Marks and Julia Barfield, and it was originally intended to be a temporary structure for five years—but it became so popular that it was kept permanently.

The London Eye is one of the most famous landmarks in London and a must-see for many first-time visitors. It’s a giant observation wheel on the south bank of the River Thames, offering some of the best panoramic views of the city.

The best photos of the London Eye itself are actually taken from Westminster Bridge, especially at sunset. One of the best free views of the London Eye is from the bridge near Tower Bridge at sunset.
