Jardi del Turia
The redirecting of the River Turia that ran through Valencia in order to avoid the periodic flooding that the city suffered left an expanse of land, surrounded by the old town and city centre. After a profound urban study an ambitious project produced a fantastic river-bed park with all sorts of facilities for children, sporting activities, ponds, fountains and the wonderful infants’ park. -

Palm Club
Palm Club is the new point in João Pessoa. By the seaside, the bar has a cosmopolitan ambient, with bright lights and wonderful retro music. That bar is headed by Zagma Maga, and her waitresses are very funny. When you there ask for their Pina Colada and a traditional Texan Hamburger. Don't worry: you can talk in English all the time, because the most people there speak it fluently. -

Parade of the three Wise Men
In Spain, one of the biggest events of the holiday season is the arrival parade of the Three Wise Men. There is a long tradition for having the children receive presents by the three \"Reyes Magos\" on the night of January 5 (Epiphany Eve) or morning of January 6. Almost every Spanish city or town organises cabalgatas in the evening, in which the kings and their servants parade and throw sweets to the children (and parents) in attendance. Madrid organizes the biggest parade of all, with different floats and and artistic performers, broadcasted nationally on TV. -

The DDR Museum (GDR- Englisch)
The DDR Museum is an unique and specific museum and one of the most-visited museums in Berlin. Specific because of three main reasons. 1. The topicThe DDR Museum is the only museum which concentrates on everyday life in the GDR. We don't only show the crimes of the State Security or the border defences at the Berlin Wall but we display the life of the people in the dictatorship: Maybe you know the spreewald pickles, nudism beaches and the Trabi - the rest of the life in this socialist state is unfamiliar to most of the people in the world. 2. The conceptA hands-on experience of history - the DDR Museum is not an exhibition to regard, but the visitor has to take part, to handle the exhibits and to look behind drawers and doors. For this reason we are one of the most interactive museums in the world - not the least point which nominated us for the European Museum of the Year Award 2008. 3. The institutionThe DDR Museum is privately financed to one hundred percent. We don't spend one cent of public money and achieve no aid money. We finance probably as the only museum in Germany to one hundred percent from the entrance fees of the visitor. Visitor orientation is not only a headword, but the guideline for our work. Thereby the DDR Museum has become one of the most visited museums in Berlin only one year after the opening. -

Tresor Club
Tresor (German for safe or vault) is an underground techno nightclub and record label. The club was founded in March 1991 in the vaults of the former old Wertheim department store in Mitte, the central part of the former East Berlin, next to the famous Potsdamer Platz, however the history of the club goes back to 1988 when the electronic music label Interfisch opened the Ufo Club in Berlin. Ufo was the original centre of Berlin house and techno, but due to financial problems that club closed in 1990. After Ufo closed, Interfisch's head, Dimitri Hegemann and some investors in the club found the new space in East Berlin. This was advantageous timing, as it was only a few months before Germany unified. The vaults under the Wertheim department store proved to be the perfect location for a club, and Tresor quickly became the place to be in Berlin. Tresor continued to be a popular club to this day, having expanded and reconstructed continuously several times to include an outdoor garden area, and a second \"Globus\" floor. The concept for the Tresor floor in the basement was specifically hard techno, industrial and acid music while Globus was featuring mainly more mellow house sound. The recordlabel Tresor Records was founded soon after the club first opened, in October 1991. Featured artists on the label include Jeff Mills, Blake Baxter, Juan Atkins, Robert Hood, Stewart Walker, Joey Beltram, DJ Surgeon, Pacou, Cristian Vogel, House of Fix and many others. In 2004 the documentary \"Tresor Berlin: The Vault & the Electronic Frontier\" was released. Directed by Mike Andrawis, it features interviews with Hegemann, Carola Stoiber, and DJs & artists associated with the club & label.[1] The film covers the period from Hegemann's involvement with the Fishladen and UFO clubs in Berlin-Kreuzberg to the final months prior to Tresor's closure. Tresor closed on the 16th April, 2005, after several years prolonged short-term rent. The city sold the land to an investor group to build offices on the Leipziger Straße location. It was open for each night of April 2005, with the final event starting the Saturday night with queues stretching all the way down the road, and still going Monday morning. Tresor reopened on 24 May 2007 in a renovated power plant on Köpenicker Straße in Mitte. -

Pulqueria Los Duelistas
This pulcata has been revitalized by young people, who have painted walls with pre-Hispanic motifs, making it now look quaint. It is also sometimes taken by the underground punk scene and rockabilly, to make music and alternate with the obligatory jukebox. The "el curado" style is very rich and, as is tradition, its fruity flavors change depending on the day, like the snack canteen. -

Sabor Amor
It's another style of place to eat: the name "Sabor Amor" means something like "Taste Love". Situated on the old side of Sintra, the historic centre where the palaces and castles are at your doorstep. A must if you're visiting Sintra, or the surroundings :) -

Finca Loreto-Family owned traditional Mexican restaurant
La Finca Loreto is one of the best "fondas" in Mexico City. A "fonda" is an informal, small and usually family owned restaurant that serves traditional home-made Mexican food in a series of fixed 4 or 5 courses. It includes soups, salad, main course, dessert, bread or tortilla, and fresh fruit water. La Finca is located in a very interesting spot of Downtown Mexico City. Loreto Square is surrounded by two very old churches, one Neoclassical (my favorite) and the other, New Spain Colonial, and by two synagogues, one Sefardi and the other, Ashkenazi. The fountain and the Neoclassical church are masterpieces of Manuel Tolsá, the most important architect of the late colonial period. Although small, La Finca Loreto is quite a cozy place. With its colorful decorated interiors and friendly staff, it is a great place to recover energy after an intense visit to the vibrant nearby Merced market and neighborhood. My favorite dish is "enchiladas de mole", an only-Mexican recipe that is very well prepared at La Finca Loreto. If "mole" is not your thing, you can try "enchiladas rojas". La Finca Loreto is your best option if you are looking for great local taste at a really fair price in a traditional and friendly place. -

Al Andalus
The Lebanese immigrants in Mexico have become a central part our society. For many Mexicans, Lebanese food is not considered exotic or outlandish, it has a special place in our national culinary tradition and is cherished by most of us. In fact, I may say that it's my favorite cuisine, and Al Andalus, my favorite place to eat it. The restaurant is conveniently located in La Merced neighborhood, where Lebanese, Syrian, and Jewish immigrants arrived in the first years of the 20th century and contributed to the strong trade tradition that still makes this area one of the most interesting in the City. In the colonial hall of Al Andalus you will always find Lebanese families before a table covered with dozens of plates with hummus, taboule, keppe, and so on, or men talking business while sipping on their hot turkish coffee or fresh arak. The quality is unbeatable among all the Lebanese restaurants in the City (and perhaps among some I've been in the Middle East). From the spearmint lassi, to the coffee and arab sweets, whatever you order will be a delight to your palate. My favorites are raw keppe, "hojas de parra" (dawali), taboule, falafel, lamb shawarma, and the sweets. If you don't mind people smoking while you are eating, try to get a table at the balcony (the smoking area), it is a very refreshing spot. -

"Chile relleno" and more at Roldán 37
Roldán 37 is a hidden jewel in one of the oldest and most traditional neighborhoods in the city: La Merced. Since the Aztec times, this area has been the commercial Mecca of the Country. Today, although a bigger commerce center has been built in the South of the city, La Merced is still a reference for retail trade. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the Country come here everyday to buy or sell their goods. Mexico's culinary diversity is present in every stand one passes by. Fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices with enthralling scents, and savory sauces are just some of the pleasures of visiting this great market. Roldán 37 is located in what used to be the house and storehouse of a pepper merchant of the 19th. Today, his descendants, the Fragoso family, have opened a restaurant that has pepper as the main ingredient of most of its dishes. Here you will be able to taste delicious traditional, and also new, recipes cooked with the many of Mexican "chiles": "poblanos", "chilacas", "serranos", "jalapeños", "cuaresmeños", etc. Yo can even have your tequila served in a "medio chile" (half pepper) which gives it a smoothly hot aftertaste. -

Olivia e Palito was the first real foodtruck I saw in POA. Specialized in sandwiches, they take it to the next level: always using season ingredients and making simple sandwiches look like they came from a Jamie Oliver's TV program. Tutti- the tuesdays nightlife
"Its not a party. its not an event. There´s no invitation, dating or tickets. Its more like a habit. And it is a party. It is an event. And the invitation is spontaneous. Every Tuesday, hundreads of people get together in the bar, and by the lake across the street. Nobody knows exaclty how it started, but everybody's there. Some are from the old school , others are just starting to understand how it works. The only certain is that, on Tuesday nights, everybody goes Tutti." Tutti is,historically, a bar where the city's cartoonist would meet. Placed where we call the " old city centre", Tutti suddenly became an atracttion in Porto Alegre, with streetfoods, hippies, music, and lots of fun. Everyone who wants to do something at a Tuesday night must go to Tutti- everywhere else get creepily empty! There are no chairs! You have to take your beach wrap ( or something similar) to sit by the lake. and get there around 8 or 9pm, so that you can sit in a good spot. There's nothing fancy about Tutti, its a "democratic" place. Just dont forget youre stil in Brasil, and dont walk around the blocks all by yourself. If possible, try to find somebody who speaks portuguese to go with you- the staff there hardly can or will. Like any other city centre place, there are always weird people. But theres no harm. the people who frequent the place have the " free love" spirit -

Etiquette Tips for Travelers in Bali
As “Western” and modern as much of Bali presents itself, the native culture of Bali provides a firm and tangible bedrock on which Balinese behavior and relationships are built. So if you’re going to visit Bali with a mind to visiting the island’s temples and meeting the local people, you’ll need to mind your manners to stay on good terms with the locals. Follow these tips to maintain smooth interpersonal relationships in Bali, wherever you go in the island. Dress and act modestly. Balinese locals are far more conservative than most Westerners; they frown on public displays of affection. So when in or near Balinese temples or rural settlements, keep the touchy-feely stuff to a minimum. Don’t use your left hand to touch or give. This precaution has to do with the left hand being used primarily for hygienic purposes. Balinese traditionally don’t use toilet paper, using water to wash up instead; the left hand “does the business” of washing up the nether regions. Thus the left hand is somewhat polluted, and should never be used to touch other people or to hand something over. The exception is when you use both hands to hand something over to someone; this is considered a high compliment. Don’t use your index finger to point or to beckon. If you need to call attention to someone, beckon him/her to come by extending your hand and, with palm facing down, making a downward wave. Don’t touch people's heads. The soul is supposed to reside in one’s head, making it off limits for people to touch. Not even children (Balinese children, that is) should be touched on their heads, so no noogies. Don’t enter any temple if you’re menstruating. This may be galling to any woman, but you have a whole island’s culture against you on this one. Any woman on her period, or anyone with a running sore or bleeding wound for that matter, is considered impure and not to be allowed into any Balinese temple. Don’t step on offerings (canang sari) in the street. Canang sari are offered to the Creator by locals first thing in the morning. When stepping out, you’ll find these little packages of woven palm leaf, flowers and herbs everywhere, even on sidewalks and stairs. Stepping on one can be deeply offensive to any Balinese who witnesses your misstep. So watch where you step around Bali, especially in the earlier part of the day, so you avoid stepping on canang sari. The same goes with clothing: dress as modestly as possible, especially when visiting temples. When paying a visit to a Balinese temple, both men and women are expected to wear shirts that cover shoulders and part of the upper arms. Flip-flops are perfectly acceptable, so long as the overall look is modest. The following leg coverings are mandatory for both men and women preparing to enter a Balinese temple. -

Tostadas de Coyoacán
If you go to Coyoacan and I really recommend you to go because is one of the oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City, home to Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Leon Trotsky, with many different options to eat from, cafes, bars and restaurants, but definitely you cannot leave without trying the "Tostadas of Coyoacan." Tostadas are fried tortillas with different stews over, sour cream and cheese, in “Tostadas of Coyoacan” you will find tostadas made with chicken, beef, shrimps, mushrooms, fish and even mole, you won’t regret, tostadas are a delicious dish of typical Mexican food and if you have a reduced budget tostadas are the option, the prices are from $ 25 to $ 35 mexican pesos, as we say in Mexico City “Good, nice and cheap”. Be careful with the sauces because some can be really hot, but they are delicious too. And for the thirst do not miss the beverages made of seasonal fruits or Jamaica, horchata or tamarind. Tostadas are within the market of the same name, it is a typical Mexican market, where piñatas, candies, fruits, vegetables, Mexican toys, local craft are sold, walk around, you'll love it. If you go on weekends probably you will find the place crowded but don’t worry the owners are always trying to find a place for you to sit down and you won’t wait more than 10 minutes. -

Xochimilco
Trajinera ride in Xochimilco You definitely cannot miss a ride on trajinera in Xochimilco, The Venice of Mexico City. Xochimilco is a lake area of the few that remains in Mexico City and was named cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1987, which was used at the time of the Aztecs for growing food and flowers. Today has greenhouses for growing flowers and ornamental plants mainly. Taking a ride in trajinera is something that definitely you should do if you're in the city, a trajinera is a kind of a large canoe with a roof, a long table and chairs for about 20 people. There are several piers where you can start your trajinera ride, but the best known is “Nativitas”, in this pier you will find a market where you can buy food and drink to take in the trajinera, or if you prefer you can buy food, refreshments, beer, candies and crafts in small boats along the way, another option, as many families do is bring your own food and drink which is cheaper and the most convenient thing to do. The rower of the trajinera will offer you in a bucket filled with ice, soft drinks and beer but these are not included in the price of the ride, so if you don’t want it, don’t drink it. The tours lasts about one hour for a price of $ 300 mexican pesos, but you can bargain with the rowers and they may give you a half hour more or to pay less than $ 600 for two hours of ride and especially if you go on midweek when they don’t have many visitors. Ask to the rower of the trajinera tell you about the history of Xochimilco, they are who know more and they’ll make your journey really fun. You'll also see trajineras with mariachis and marimba (a Mexican musical instrument), ask them to play a song for you, you'll have so much fun and you will meet some Mexican songs. Each mariachi song costs $ 100 Mexican pesos and marimba $ 30 Mexican pesos, you can bargain with any of them to play more songs for less money. Ask to the rower to take you to one of the greenhouses that are found along the way so you can see the variety of flowers that are sold, they are really nice, just do not forget that get off to see the flowers will also feature on the travel time. Xochimilco is like an oasis in the middle of the city and there is no any other activity that compares with this experience, you will really see the main essence of the Aztec culture in Mexico City. -

Tepotzotlán Pueblo Mágico
Day trip. Mexico City has many places to visit, so many that you won’t have enough time to visit all. But if you have opportunity there are nearby places that you will love and will take only a few hours to reach them. In about an hour and a half from downtown Mexico City there is magical town called Tepotzotlán, a very traditional small town, once here I recommend to start a visit to the ecological park "Arches Site" is or "Xalpa Aqueduct", located 13 km from Tepotzotlán, you’ll have the opportunity to see an impressive hydraulic piece used by the Jesuits for bring water during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, you can make some activities like biking or horseback riding, hiking. There are hanging bridges, zip lines and a climbing wall, the entrance fee to the park is $ 35 Mexican pesos, the rest of the activities are charged separately. Back to Tepotzotlán you can visit the National Museum of Viceroyalty which is in an excellent state of preservation, the Chapel of the main hall is used every Sunday for concerts and plays, it has an altarpiece Churrigueresque and Baroque style in carved wood covered with gold leaf, you will be surprised when you see it. The museum has rooms on the second floor with beautiful views of the village, ask for the tour with a guide so you know the fascinating history of the place, the entrance fee is $ 56 Mexican pesos. The village has a food market, I highly recommend the quesadillas, sopes and Tlacoyos, if you walk to the left of the market in the next corner you will find a small restaurant where they sell a traditional Mexican dish called pozole and you can eat all that you want for the same price. If you prefer a restaurant with a bit more of variety, I recommend you "Los Virreyes", "Hostería del Convento", "Meson del Molino", "Casa Mago" among others, all these restaurants are located in the historical downtown of Tepotzotlán. For dessert next to the Municipal Palace are some small stalls where you will find ice creams of traditional flavors or exotic flavors such as tequila and cheese, try them, they are truly extraordinary and the sellers are very friendly, they will help you to decide the flavor of the ice cream by giving you a taste of it. This visit will take the whole day but it really worth it to do so. -

Museo Nacional de Antropología
National Museum of Anthropology If you really like to learn about the ancient culture of the country that you are visiting, the National Museum of Anthropology is an excellent introduction to the vast variety of civilizations that inhabited Mexico you’ll find in its halls impressive displays of the Mayan, Toltec, Olmec and of course the Aztec culture. Among the pieces that can be seen in the museum is the Sun Stone, a large monolith with which the ancient Aztecs represented the beginning and end of their world, in this room you also will find a model of the ancient city of Tenochtitlan today the historical downtown of Mexico City, or the giant Olmec heads weighing approximately 20 tons and representing one of the oldest cultures that dominated the Gulf of Mexico, mainly in the states of Veracruz and Tabasco. I recommend the rent of an audio guide, they are available in French, English and Spanish for $ 75 Mexican pesos, for you to take the tour in chronological order and do not miss all the details of the pieces that are exhibited. Believe me I have visited this museum many times and I’m still learning and discovering something new, the museum is really amazing. Go to the museum shop, prices are not cheap but they have a very interesting books about the history of Mexico and a really beautiful handicrafts, so if you do not mind paying a little more, don’t miss it. Leaving the museum continue straight ahead and you will find “Los Voladores de Papantla” or “Bird Men”, do not miss to observe the rite that they perform, you'll love it, this religious ceremony represents fertility and falling rain, there is no cost but once they complete their representation they will kindly request you for a tip, what you want to give them is ok. The National Museum of Anthropology is located in the second section of Chapultepec, a large park dating back to pre-Hispanic times, it has two artificial lakes, a zoo, a greenhouse with a lot of cactus plants of Mexico many of them endangered species, a castle and other museums of the same historical importance, the park is open from Tuesday to Sunday and the access is free. Definitely visit the National Museum of Anthropology is necessary if you want to know about the ancient history of Mexico City. -

This area includes the neighborhoods of Condesa and Roma and it has a variety of restaurants, bars, cafes, boutiques of independent designers, small hotels, modern art galleries, plazas and parks. If you like walking to know a city these places are excellent. Roma neighborhood was one of the first modern areas that existed in the city, mostly home of wealthy European immigrants and today many of its buildings are Art Nouveau and eclectic French style. Around 1,500 buildings are found here and they were turned into artistic monuments. Among which you will find, “Casa Lamm” a cultural center and the House of Bruges, both on the Orizaba street and Rio de Janeiro square that has a replica of Michelangelo's David, an excellent place to take some refreshment at the cafes that are found in this area with tables outside so you do not miss anything. If you want to buy handicrafts, clothing, shoes and jewelry of excellent quality, come to visit the bazaars of Roma where Mexican designers will offer unique, original and very nice pieces, one of them is "Trafico Bazar", usually you find them in “Centro Gallego” gallery in 194 Colima street, follow them on Facebook for dates of their upcoming events www.facebook.com/BAZAR.TRAFIC For lunch I highly recommend the Roma market, a gourmet space where you will find varied food like Arabic, Mexican, tapas, burgers, beers and ice creams, gourmet cheeses and hams, etc. It is located at 225 Queretaro street, open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and the restaurant area on the first floor from 9:00 am to 24:00 hours, be sure of visit it. If you want to take a good cocktail or beer I recommend the bar "Chuchito Perez" a great place to have a good time and good music located near the Cibeles Fountain and Durango street. Condesa or Countess Neighborhood in English, belonged to the Countess of Miravalle, hence the name and in the nineteenth century had a racetrack, hence making their way roundabout Amsterdam. Start by walking on Alfonso Reyes Avenue, arriving at the corner of Tamaulipas street, on the left side in the mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., you’ll see a long line of people waiting to buy a “Torta de chilaquiles”, if you want to try a traditional Mexican dish for breakfast buy one and sit on one of the benches that are on the avenue. The restaurant located in the same corner "El Zorzal" is an excellent Argentine restaurant for lunch. Following on Alfonso Reyes street and Tacámbaro corner street on the left side you will see the "Farolito" tacos are the main dish in its menu, for lunch or dinner this restaurant is an excellent choice, ask the pastor tacos, jerky tacos or any of its specialties, they are really delicious. Arriving at the Mazatlan Avenue walk to the right, this avenue it is very pretty so you can walk peacefully, when you reach to Michoacan street walk to the right you will find many restaurants, bars and cafes that suits to all the tastes and budgets, following on Mazatlan Avenue and the corner of Fernando Montes de Oca street to the right side is the Roxy ice cream shop, with traditional and delicious ice cream flavors. If you continue walking on Mazatlan Avenue and reach Veracruz Street turn to the right and walk to the Spain Park, a very quiet place and where dog lovers often take their pets for a walk. I also recommend walking on Amsterdam square and Mexico Park, this whole area is very beautiful, you'll love it. If you are in bohemian mood and if you want to do something different, ask to your local friend to take you to any of these two wonderful neighborhoods, I assure you that you'll have so much fun. -

Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana
One of the most important places in the city for appreciating art. The venue offers spaces dedicated to various forms of artistic expression, from classrooms for photography, music, dance, theater, and visual arts, to reading areas spread throughout. The Mario Quintana House of Culture also stands out as a great meeting point in the heart of the city. Its cinema screens alternative films at prices far lower than commercial theaters. All in all, it’s one of the most democratic and valuable cultural spaces in the city, and it’s also the eternal home of the poet Mário Quintana. Highlights worth visiting include the Elis Regina Auditorium, the Poet’s Room, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul (6th floor – open Tuesday to Sunday until 6 PM), the Natho Henn Public Music Library, the children’s library, and the playroom. -

No doubt, it’s one of the best parks in the city. With a great location, Barigui Park offers plenty of space for sports and relaxation. Plus, right across from one of its entrances, you’ll find the Automobile Museum. The best time to visit is during the week, since weekends get very crowded and often attract people who play loud music and turn the park into a sort of “party” (not in a good way). That’s why I never go on weekends — but during the week, it’s excellent. Oh, and one more thing… you’ll spot some cute capybaras wandering around! -

Saving Money in Paris
Paris has a lot of museums and some of them are unmissable. However, to visit all can be really expensive, but there is a way to save money and enjoy some of the best options of Paris and region. First, if you have an European passport and under 26 years old you can go free or with a discount: - Musée du Louvre: free under 26 residing in the EU - Château de Versailles: free for visitors under 18 (or under 26 residing in the EU). - Museé d'Orsay: Free entry for those aged 18-25 who are citizens or long-term residents (visa longer than 3 months) of an EU member state. - Centre Pompidou: under the age of 18, admission to the Museum, temporary exhibitions and panoramic view is free and no ticket is needed. - Panthéon: free under 26 EU citizen - Arc de Triomphe: free for visitors under 18 (or under 26 residing in the EU) And every first Sunday of the month, a lot of museums are free: - Musée du Louvre: from October to March - Arc de Triomphe: from November to March - Panthéon: from November to March - Château de Versailles: from November to March - Museé d'Orsay: all year - Centre Pompidou: all year Others examples you can find in the museum's website or https://en.parisinfo.com/discovering-paris/themed-guides/paris-for-free/free-museums-and-monuments-in-paris/free-admission-and-good-deals-in-museums-and-monuments-in-paris -

Abraços e bem vindo a Paris -

Paulista avenue

From the time it was a city home for the cofee barons only remained 3 buildings, and now is more democratic that it was a century ago. In its almost 2km lenght, it has the some of the principal museums, 2 green areas, 2 shopping malls and many, many stores, including the biggest brazilian fast fashion brands, which stores in this adress are really big. On Christmas, a beautiful decoration usually takes place, in New Year's Eve a big concert with a 15 minutes firework show celebrates every 31st december the year to come and every sunday, the day closed for (heavy) traffic, many people come and walk in the middle of the street. The best days to visit Paulista avenue is on Sunday and Tuesday, when the museus is free entrance. There is a huge concentration of hotels and restaurants in the surroundings. When you get here, is good to have some cash, because Paulista avenue and the region itself is still a noble adress and the atractions might not be cheap (at least for me). -

How to eat a croissant like the French do
Lifestyle Tip Many times, when we are abroad, we want to follow the local's footstep and wish to appear knowledgeable about the cultural lifestyle. Therefore, we believe that the best way is the educated way. Not always. When it comes to eating croissants in Paris, the fashion hub and elegant french capital, one would assume one needs to be proper and stylish when doing so. The truth is, you (really) don't. You want to have a food orgasm? The only way is to tear it apart with your barehands like it's the last remaining croissant on the planet. Get butter on your fingers, yes the crumbles will fall on the floor and you will make a mess and it's okay because you're doing it right. Just make sure you grab a napkin for when the experience is over, you will want to get rid of the delicious grease that could testify of what just happened. This is your guilty pleasure and no one has to know. -

Don't: the Champs-Elysées
Dear Frienders, I hate to be one to break it up to you but Parisians don't hang out on the Champs-Elysées. Ever. In fact, it's the first place we tend to avoid. The only reason I might go there is to shop at Sephora (one of the biggest in town). That's probably the biggest trap about our city. It was once the place-to-be, my grandparents used to tell me how Parisians would dress up to take a stroll on the most beautiful avenue of the world as we (proudly) like to call it. I still take pride in it for the photographic angles it offers, the Christmas lights and of course our dear Arc de Triomphe. I wouldn't recommend to go there just for a drink, you will pay twice perhaps three times more than what it's worth in a restless atmosphere due to the dense crowd of tourists but also from ill-intentioned souls. More tourists often means more thieves. Stay alert. However, there are no Traps without Tips, one hidden gem remains on the Champs (Parisians never add "Elysées", we call it simply Les Champs, we've known each other all our lives no need for formality) with a beautiful courtyard and a vegetable wall: Flora Danica. On the beginning of the avenue, left hand-side with the Arc behind you, look for the sea blue window and step inside a Scandinavian-inspired, serene decor, serving a fish-based menu with elegance. The perfect pit-stop after frantic hours of shopping. Prices match the postcode but you will be served quality dishes. Flora Danica: 142 Avenue des Champs-Elysées https://www.floradanica.fr/ -

Write about your own experiences guiding as a Local Friend. You can write these on your own voice, relating the unique experiences you were able to give who was traveling with you. Example: "Last week, I guided a traveler from Spain who wanted to experience the city beyond the main attractions. We started with a quiet morning at a small coffee shop only locals know, then wandered through a street art alley where I could share the stories behind each mural. They told me it was their favorite part of the trip because it felt like discovering a secret side of the city, one they would have never found alone."
