About this tip
The Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo in Aguada is a historic iron market hall that reopened in 2013. Fresh produce, butchers and spice stalls share the building with restaurants and cafés. It opens daily, with the food area running later than the stalls, and it hosts free music and dance evenings through the Martín García entrance. It sits away from the old town, so go by bus or taxi and come hungry.
