On Sundays a fair sets up in Parque Rodó on Avenida Gonzalo Ramírez, between Julio Herrera y Reissig and Joaquín Requena. Its artisan stalls belong to the Asociación de Artesanas y Artesanos del Parque Rodó, which accepts only handcrafted work, not machine-knitted, laser-engraved or sublimated pieces. Ask the maker how it was made before you buy, then take a stroll around the park lake.
