Uruguay's Día del Patrimonio opens heritage buildings and museums across the country on a weekend in early October. The 2024 edition ran on 5 and 6 October and the 2026 one on 3 and 4 October. In Montevideo, entry to some sites is free, as at the Museo del Fútbol in 2024. Look up the official list of open sites and hours for the year, and plan a route of two or three sites close together.
