About this tip
Opened in 1902, the Jardín Botánico in the Prado district is the only botanical garden in Uruguay, with lawns, fountains, aquatic plants and shady corners. Entry is free, and locals use it for walking, jogging and an aerobic circuit. The main entrance is on Avenida 19 de Abril. Bring water and something to sit on, as few vendors operate nearby, and plan your ride because it is about 7 km from the old town.
