You climb down from a Western Railway express onto the Vapi platform, and the town already points elsewhere. An auto ride west crosses the Daman Ganga toward the Portuguese walls of Moti Daman Fort. The green hills around Silvassa sit to the east, and a short drive north, the Parsi village of Udvada keeps its sacred fire burning.
Back in town, the old western side holds the station and its markets, while the GIDC estate and newer homes spread east of the highway. In winter, roadside kitchens cook ubadiyu in upturned clay pots. The monsoon soaks June to September, and dry, mild winters are the easy season. When your list runs out, a Local Friend picks the next stop.
