Scooters thread the narrow, gated lanes of the old pols while a Janmarg bus glides along its own lane outside the walls. At dawn, walkers and joggers take over the Sabarmati Riverfront, and after dark the city moves on foot toward Manek Chowk, a square that trades vegetables and jewelry for food stalls by night.
Beyond the old city, the stone lattice of the Sidi Saiyyed jali catches the morning light, and families circle Kankaria Lake in the evening. Summers are fiercely hot, the monsoon brings humid rain from June to September, and winters stay mild and dry. A Local Friend keeps the plan loose, so a chance invitation or a late snack can reshape the whole day.
