Open fields run flat to a pale horizon on every side of town, and the sky above them feels enormous. In the middle of Jind, that same stillness settles on Rani Talab, where the white Bhuteshwar Temple stands inside its wide tank and its reflection barely moves.
Beyond the water, the old town grew up around the Jayanti Devi Temple, and the village of Pandu Pindara fills with pilgrims whenever a new moon falls on a Monday. Summers are hot and dry, monsoon rain arrives in July, and winters turn cool and clear. A Local Friend can lead you to a favourite bench by the tank and tell you how the Queen's Pond got its name.
