Early light turns the steel silos of Amul Dairy silver, and the sky over the flat Charotar plain slides from pale pink to hard blue as milk tankers pull in. By late afternoon the same tanks glow gold, a fitting color for the town tucked inside the Amul name.
Away from the dairy, students crowd the snack counters of Vallabh Vidyanagar, and in Karamsad the mud-brick house where Sardar Patel grew up sits behind a quiet garden. Summers are fiercely hot, the monsoon soaks July and August, and winter brings dry, mild days. A Local Friend knows when to catch the silos in morning light and when to linger over an evening snack as the campus town fills up.
