The infamous Blacks Beach. Park in the dirt parking lot for the Torrey Pines Gliderport and make your way to the edge of the cliff. You will find a path made up of stairs and some slight inclined sections all built and maintained by volunteers and donated materials. You will make your way down the stairs a decent of roughly 300 ft in elevation until you reach the sand. From the bottom of the stairs to the south about 100 ft is the southern boundary and a couple miles north is the northern boundary of a stretch of shoreline called Blacks Beach. It is the southern half of Torrey Pines State Beach. It's name comes from the Blacks family who once owned it but donated it. Unofficially, on this stretch of sand, clothing is optional and nudity is tolerated as long as it is not sexualized. Here you can be free, frolic naked in the waves, surf in your birthday suit, get rid of your tan lines with nude sunbathing, and respectfully connect with other people with similar lifestyles. There are trash cans and porta potties at the gliderport parking lot but not on the beach [pack it in pack it out]. There are no lifeguard towers and no lifeguard on constant duty although once or twice on a weekday and several times on a weekend day a lifeguard will drive up and down the beach making their rounds. Please be mindful of your phone camera being respectful to not take pictures of the naked people and not have any naked people in your background. It makes the naked people anxious as to what your intentions are by taking their picture without consent. What you are wearing does give others the right to treat you like an object. Your body your choice not theirs. Being naked is not consent for any individual photography. Nudity in itself is art and taking a picture is theft. If anyone wants a tour of the hike and beach walk I would be honored to be your tour guide on a clothing optional tour. So what are you waiting for -throw on a robe of confidence, accessorize with a smile and let's go to the beach.
