Austin is renowned for its barbecue, with an abundance of choices and a nice variety of experiences to be had. Some places live up to the hype, despite lengthier lines, but there are some great options that don't often make the (often paid) listicles of 'places you HAVE to visit while in Austin'.
A local favorite is Moreno Barbecue. They offer out of this world barbecue that can be ordered from a tolerable line (I don't think I've waited longer than 10 minutes). They have a location on Menchaca that serves mostly burgers-- smoked or smashed, both are great!
Another great option is Churchrow Tejas Bbq on Anderson for excellent tacos that won't commandeer the rest of your day!
