From March to July, heavy rain soaks the forest around the city, and the road to Lake Bosomtwe winds through dripping green hills. In the drier months the skies clear for long days at Kejetia Market. Every sixth Sunday, rain or shine, drums and horns announce Akwasidae at Manhyia Palace.
Beyond the big sights, the shop-lined streets of Adum run into the market, and weavers a short ride away still build kente strip by strip. Days stay warm all year, with a shorter wet spell from September to November and drier weeks around the new year. A Local Friend keeps the plan loose, ready to trade a cloudburst for a museum or follow the drums somewhere new.
