On a trip, no one usually plans to visit a government building, right? But the Tokyo Government Building deserves to be on your itinerary. The Government Building is one of the city's coolest free attractions — and offers one of the best views of Tokyo. It's located in Shinjuku and has several interesting things to do:
- There are two observatories in the north and south towers with free admission. The building is the fifth tallest in the city, offering a very cool view.
- There's a cafe and souvenir shops.
- The architecture and design resemble a modern cathedral.
- Every night, there's the Tokyo Night & Light light show, the world's largest permanent projection mapping display on a building. It's wonderful and free.
