The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana founded in 1618 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo is certainly one of the best in the city. It is a complex that also includes the Ambrosian Library and has works by Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli, Bramantino, Caravaggio and others. Among the library's most valuable possessions are more than 1000 pages of Leonardo Da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus. The mansion where it is installed is an attraction in itself. Strongly recommended.
