A common trap for travelers in Delhi is auto or taxi drivers overcharging near New Delhi Railway Station and Paharganj. Many drivers refuse to use the meter and may charge 3–5 times the normal fare, especially from tourists. To avoid this, use Uber, Rapido, Ola, or the Delhi Metro, or insist on using the meter. Checking the route and estimated fare on Google Maps can also help prevent overpaying.
