Do you want to try and buy mexican fresh and cheap candies, go to the Candy Market in la Merced, you will find a huge variety like "alegrìas, (toasted amaranth seeds and honey), palanquetas ( toasted peanut candy with brown sugar syrup), Cocadas(clusters of coconut)" and many many more.
These candies are the perfect gift to your friends and relatives and they are really delicious.
I must say it is not the most pretty area of Mexico City but you are going to love the market and i recomend you better to go with a local, because if you dont know the city, you can easily get lost. There are a lot of bees because of the candies but dont worry, they are very busy with candies.
