Office workers cross downtown fifteen feet above the sidewalk, walking tower to tower through the glass +15 skywalks while snow piles up below. Down by the Bow River, cyclists roll onto the red helix of the Peace Bridge and join a pathway network that loops through parks, and plenty keep pedaling all winter.
Past the towers come corner cafés, river parks and old brick main streets, and every July the town pulls on cowboy boots for the Stampede. Winters are long and cold, but a chinook wind off the mountains can turn a frozen morning mild by lunch. A Local Friend keeps the plan loose, so a sunny afternoon becomes a river ride and a cold snap a skywalk wander.
