Sunshine sets the plan on most days. Mornings start cool enough for a bike ride along the Turia Garden, the old riverbed turned park. Paella is a midday dish, so the pans come out at lunch, and the afternoon heat sends people to the sand at Malvarrosa. When the sea breeze picks up at dusk, terraces fill across the old town.
Beyond the big sights, El Cabanyal keeps its tiled fishermen's houses and old taverns, and the Central Market piles up rice and orchard vegetables. Winters are mild, summers hot and dry, and autumn storms bring most of the rain. A Local Friend decodes the rice menu, plots the route and senses when the evening calls for one more terrace.
