Red roofs tumble down to the Vltava, and Prague Castle runs along the ridge above like a long stone wall crowned with spires. Walk down into Malá Strana and the view shrinks to a painted house sign over a doorway, three violins or two golden suns, left from the days before street numbers.
Away from the old center, Vinohrady keeps its parks and wine bars for neighbors, and Letná looks back over the bridges from its leafy plateau. Summers are warm, winters are cold with the odd snowfall, and spring and autumn sit comfortably in between. A Local Friend can lead you to the bench or courtyard they love most and tell you how they found it.
